I feel like I can actually write something now that I don’t have essays and presentations and language proficiency tests breathing down my neck. So sorry about the lack of writing. It hasn’t been hectic, I’ve just had other things to do. I’m kind of happy I prioritised work over blogging though in a way. Haha. Any normal person would do it the other way ’round. I’m starting off the new lunar year by watching Vampire Weekend perform at the Edinburgh HMV Picturehouse! Yay! I think this is the third time I’ve said that Contra comes out today in the UK. So yeah, hopefully you’ve gotten that message by now. Contra is a good album, but it’s not great. And it’s definitely not as good as Vampire Weekend, their debut album. The already released songs, “Horchata”, “White Sky” and “Cousins” are really nice songs, but I don’t feel they really compare to “Walcott” or “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa” or “Mansard Roof”. So I recently got myself a little radio. Well by that I mean it’s a radio and ipod alarm clock thing. So probably not a little radio. But whatever. Anyways, I’d been listening to Radio 1 so much (actually constantly, I’m not too sure why), I’d forgotten that I liked my taste in music. Haha. I was growing to like what’s in the charts right now. Which isn’t so bad, but I forgot that I’d much rather just sit down, read a book, and listen to the shit I’ve got on my computer. Which incidentally, isn’t shit. Well, this [...] |
