Just in case people are wondering: there are definitely moments where I feel culture shock. It’s not very often but it’s still there. I think I was expecting Shanghai to be so much like Hong Kong, but it really is. List of top three occassions after the jump. 7 March, 2010 at 10.07 pm
Okay, so not much was achieved really. But this is what was learnt/experienced: If you’re making canelloni, and can’t find fresh lasagna sheets, and you decide to get dried lasagna sheets and precook them, cook them individually. Throwing a bunch of lasagna sheets in a pot and boiling them results in them sticking together to form a pasta brick.
Always buy extra lasagna sheets.
There’s not much to do in Durham.
Durham cathedral is beautiful.

Well I’m currently on my way to Durham (blogging on my blackberry, amazing) to bond with the loves of my life, Anne and Max. This’ll be the first time I’ve seen Anne since her birthday in early November, and the first time I’ll be seeing Max since I left HK for second year (he might have even left HK before me – I can’t remember). Maybe something great and productive will occur… Probably not though. Well it will be great. Anyways, don’t really expect any update until Sunday at the earliest, we will be far too busy having fun. 6 September, 2009 at 7.30 pm
so here I am in the Pacific Coffee Company in IFC mall waiting for Anne to show up. I’m drinking cranberry and apple juice. I should get an award for writing the most boring webpost ever. |
