Yesterday morning (US time), the US Senate voted against a reform to squash the $781 billion health care plan, which brings the US one step closer to health care reform.
Obama is pushing for the Senate to vote on the bill on Christmas Eve, as it was his priority for 2009. For the bill to pass, the bill needs to draw in a majority of 60 yes’, which is possible since the Democrats do have majority in the Senate. But again, there have been serious reactions against the bill, so it’s largely a case of converting the independents.
